With the Summer approaching, Vancouver starts to welcome a lot of outdoor activities and festivals. Here you can find a list of some of the ones you should not miss if you are in Vancouver during the following weeks.


Car Free Day Vancouver
On June 15 (Sunday), Care Free Day celebrates its 10th Anniversary.  The Festival will take place in 4 neighbourhoods: Commercial Drive, Main Street, West End and Kitsilano.


Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival 2014

This year, Bard on the Beach is celebrating its 25th Season. It is considered one of the largest not-for-profit professional Shakespeare festivals in Canada. From June 11 to September 20, two performance tents will host plays, related drama and special events. Visit the official website to learn more and buy tickets.


Richmond Summer Night Market

The annual night market is back to Vancouver. It will be running on weekends (Friday to Sunday) and Holidays until October 13th. You can visit their website to learn more about the attractions and vendors.


Dragon Boat Festival (Rio Tinto Alcan)

The annual Rio Tinto Alcan Dragon Boat Festival in Vancouver will take place from June 20 to 22. This festival is recognized as one of the biggest in North America, and attracts over 100,000 visitors and close to 180 dragon boat teams fro all over the world. Greek Day on Bradway

Join hundreds of thousands of people on June 22, from 11a to 9pm, on Broadway Street (from MacDonald to Blenheim Street) to celebrate the Greek Day. Free entry. Learn more on the Greek Day official website.


2014 TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival

From June 20 to July 1, 1,800 artists and 300 concerts will take place in 35 venues throughout the city, in one of British Columbia’s biggest music and arts presentation. You can find out more about the performances and venues in the official website.


Canada Day at Canada Place

On July 1 we will celebrate Canada Day. The Canada Day at Canada Place is presented by Port Metro Vancouver, and it is considered to be the largest Canada Day celebration outside Ottawa (Canada’s capital city). From 10am to 6pm. The Canada Day Parade will start at 7pm. At 10:40pm, people can join the Fireworks Show. More information on the official website.


Carnaval del Sol

Join the Carnaval del Sol Festival and enjoy the Latin food, music and culture. The festival will be on for two days – July 5 & July 6. Visit Carnaval del Sol to learn more.
