The Klahowya Village in Stanley Park

Each summer in Stanley Park, Aboriginal people come together to build Klahowya Village to share authentic Aboriginal experiences, traditions and culture with visitors from around the world. To learn more click here.


Il Mercato: Italian Night Market

Starting on August 15, IL CENTRO Italian Cultural Centre will present the city’s first Farmer and Italian Night Market. It will run every 3rd Friday of the month, from 3pm to 7pm until November 21. You can learn more about it here.


Rio Samaya Band

Rio Samaya Band plays an original music of songs and poetry in a magical combination of Latin, Reggae & Rhumba. This free concert is taking place at Trout Lake on August 20th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. For more information click here.


CBC Musical Nooners Free Concerts

Enjoy the Free and Live music concerts by CBC Musical Nooners on the CBC Plaza. These concerts are happening from Monday to Friday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM until August 22nd. For more information click here.


Waterfront Cinema at Canada Place

TAIWANfest was founded as a music event in Vancouver in 1990 and now it is one of the world’s largest arts and cultural events outside of Taiwan. The festival is taking place at Vancouver Art Gallery Plaza on August 30th to September 1st. To learn more click here.


Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre presents Ghostown

Ghostown recalls a pivotal event in Steven Nunoda’s family history. The exhibit comments on immigrant experiences, broader issues of human rights, displaced populations and the effects of racism. It is available until August 31st. For more information click here.

The International Summer Night Market

International Summer Night Market is recognized as a world class landmark attraction in Richmond and it presents multiple types of attractions suitable for all ages. The market opens every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until September 14th. For more information click here.


Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival 2014

Bard on the Beach is one of Canada’s largest not-for-profit Shakespeare Festivals. The festival is taking place in Vancouver’s Vanier Park until September 20th, and offers Shakespeare plays and related dramas. To learn more click here.

Richmond Summer Night Market

Without Masks: Contemporary Afro-Cuban Art

This exhibition featuring over 80 Afro-Cuban artworks collected by Chris and Marina von Christierson and explores the ties that link the histories and cultures of Cuba and Africa. The exhibition is available till November 2nd. To learn more click here.
