Events and Activities in Vancouver

Arts Club Theatre Company presents Red Rock Diner
Vancouver’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Musical. Five teens come of age while DJ Red Robinson plays the biggest hits of the time. Playing at Granville Island Stage until August 2nd, 2014. Students can buy tickets online – click here.


Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival 2014
This year, Bard on the Beach is celebrating its 25th Season. It is considered one of the largest not-for-profit professional Shakespeare festivals in Canada. CBC Musical Nooners Free Concerts
During the summer, CBC Musical Nooners Free Concerts is back for their fifth year. Free, live music concerts will be happening every weekday on the CBC plaza on Hamilton Street (between West Georgia and Robson). Until August 22nd. To find out more, click here.


Claiming Space: Voices of Urban Aboriginal Youth
Representation of an urban Aboriginal youth nowadays, created by over 20 young artists from Canada, US, and around the world. The exhibition will be running everyday (except Mondays) until January 4th, 2015. Learn more by clicking here.


ExtraOrdinary
This painting, sculpture and ceramic work exhibition focuses on bringing common everyday objects into an unfamiliar and mysterious realm. Available until July 26th (recurring daily). Click here to learn more.


Honda Celebration of Light

This Vancouver’s biggest event is the largest offshore firework competition in the world. It happens every year and attracts up to 400,000 people. This year, the competitors will be USA (July 26), France (July 30) and Japan (August 2). The show starts at 10pm on each night and lasts for 25 minutes. Kelly Richardson – Legion

First solo exhibition of Canadian artist Kelly Richardson in Vancouver. Recurring daily until August 31. Click here to learn more.


Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre presents Ghostown
The exhibition recalls and memorializes a pivotal event in Steven Nunoda’s family history. The work comments on immigrant experiences, broader issues of human rights, displaced populations and the effects of racism. Available until August 31. Learn more about Ghostown.


Richmond Summer Night Market

Rogers Radio presents Stanley Park Open 2014

Saturday Summer Sessions
