Dr. Mireille Golemiec

Ms. Golemiec earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario. She continued her education with Master’s and PhD degrees in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from The University of Toronto, where her research focused on social behaviours and interaction dynamics in Drosophila Melanogaster (fruit flies!).

In Toronto, Ms. Golemiec worked as a teaching assistant for 9 years, running first year Biology and second year Genetics labs and tutorials. She also worked as a private tutor for elementary and high school students, teaching a variety of Mathematics and Science courses – it is here where her love of teaching truly developed. Ms. Golemiec is passionate about learning new things and believes that all students can succeed when they are intrigued by a subject and fully engaged in the learning process. She approaches each concept with enthusiasm and encourages curiosity in her students.

Ms. Golemiec is new to Vancouver and enjoys spending her spare time exploring the city and staying active with running, hiking, or workout classes. She also enjoys reading, crafting, and doing crosswords!
